Nesting in East Neuk, Crail offers 36 holes and is one of the oldest societies in the world, and is the 7th oldest golf course. Old Tom Morris laid the original 9 holes at Balcomie in 1895, and in 1998, Craighead was opened.
Used as the venue for the final qualifying round of the Open in 2005, this tight, tree-lined course is a challenge for all golfers.
Founded in 1817, it is the 13th oldest golf club in the world. St Andrews Golfing Society took a leading role in founding the club.
Just across from St Andrews Bay, Carnoustie is the home of the last Scottish winner of the Open, Paul Lawrie back in 1999.
